OK, that’s getting shut off. Thank you, Delicious, for clogging up my blog with a bunch of unreadable crap. ![]()

Eagle Eye Added to Worpress.org Directory
Sunday, September 7th, 2008Eagle Eye (the sidebar widget that shows up under the “Where Am I Now?” in my sidebar) has been added to the official plugin Directory at Wordpress.org.
It’s the first version of my first plugin, and though I’ve tested it in a couple places it wouldn’t shock me if it’s got a few ugly bugs. Let me know when you find ‘em.

Happy Birthday, Trainstalking
Thursday, September 20th, 2007It just occurred to me that Trainstalking’s first anniversary came and went, and I didn’t even notice.
Maybe for its birthday I should get it a better camera.
Invisibility and Outrage
Wednesday, June 27th, 2007
I have occasional periods where I become a little withdrawn. I seem to be in the middle of one of them. I’ve been told by friends (the ones who put up with me and are still around) that it can be very frustrating. I tend to just disappear.
It’s not a conscious thing; I just go through stretches where all I want to do when I get home is escape. Fairly often that means I throw on a pair of headphones and try out a game that I’ve been meaning to look at for months. When pressed, I can’t really come up with a reason for it, other than that it happens on occasion, and it will eventually pass.
I realize it’s purely selfish. I go off into my own world (or, in the latest case, one of BioWare’s) and I don’t come out until I’m damned good and ready. That return may be happening already, actually, considering I’m finally making an appearance here again after neglecting the place for a while.

In other news, I was recently invited to join a Yahoo group dedicated to discussing “encounters and commuter stories” experienced on the BART system, after someone there posted a link to Trainstalking. That started a thread on the ethics and legalities of posting candid shots of people without their permission, and I now seem to be in the center of a minor shitstorm.
I’m not complaining, mind you. I love a good shitstorm.
How Would You Like Yours Autographed?
Sunday, April 29th, 2007One of the constants in my life for as long as I can remember is that I’m always telling myself I need to do more writing. My brain’s usually full of half-formed characters and plots waiting to be put to paper, but I always seem to have a tough time with the follow-through. Eventually I’ll decide the whole thing is crap and the cycles starts again from the beginning.
Lately it’s been a little different. I’ve been kicking some ideas around for a while, and this time those ideas aren’t getting less interesting to me over time. It’s been quite the opposite this time — the more I think about the characters, the more real they are becoming to me. I’ve been fleshing out the story in my head, and the more I do the more I think that maybe this one really deserves to be written down.
I’m pretty excited.
Trainstalking
Thursday, March 29th, 2007If you’ve been coming to this place for any length of time, you already know about my disturbing predilection toward taking pictures of guys on the train (and in restaurants, and on the street, and in public restrooms… wait. Scratch that. I haven’t posted any of those here).
It happens often enough that I’ve been considering giving them their own home. Trainstalking is the preliminary result of that itch.
